FENS Forum Legacy Programme

A long-term commitment to neuroscience and society

As part of the FENS Forum 2026, FENS is launching the Legacy Programme, an initiative designed to extend the impact of the Forum far beyond the conference itself.

The Legacy Programme supports a diverse series of neuroscience-related activities within the host country, including conferences, festivals, public outreach events, exhibitions, and cultural initiatives. Its core objective is to create a lasting impact on the local community, fostering dialogue between neuroscience and society while making brain research accessible to wider audiences. Rather than being limited to the days of the Forum, the programme is conceived as a long-term project, rooted in the local context and aimed at generating sustained engagement with neuroscience.

With a strong local focus, most activities will take place in the months leading up to the Forum, primerly in Barcelona, the host city of FENS Forum 2026. The programme is coordinated by the host society, the Spanish Society for Neuroscience (SENC), in close collaboration with local partners, institutions, and communities.

Discover the Legacy Programme activities below and explore how neuroscience will engage the city of Barcelona in the lead-up to FENS Forum 2026.
