Workshop Overview
Are you an Early Career Researcher passionate about high-quality research and animal welfare? This pre-conference workshop is for you!
We’re bringing together researchers from diverse fields of biomedical research to explore how we can collectively build a future of impactful science with the highest standards of animal welfare and research into alternatives to animal experiments.
What to Expect:
Join us for an afternoon of interactive learning and practical skill-building! This 4-hour workshop is designed to be highly engaging, with breaks for social encounter included.
You'll:
- Brainstorm & Strategize: Work with your peers to identify concrete ways to implement the 3Rs in your own research and develop a personal and institutional 3Rs roadmap.
- Discover Useful Tools: Learn about fostering a positive error culture and explore online resources that can make a real difference to lab animal welfare – day to day. We'll be showcasing valuable platforms like CIRS-LAS and SMAFIRA to help you in your daily work.
- Master License Applications: Gain confidence in writing compelling lab animal license applications that prioritize ethical considerations.
We believe that empowering the next generation of researchers is key to driving progress in both science and animal welfare. This workshop is designed to help you connect with fellow early-career scientists and prepare you to actively participate in the collaborative and formal environment of the 3rd Annual Meeting.
Who Should Attend:
This workshop is ideal for Early Career Researcher (BSc/MSc/PhD/MD students and Postdocs) eager to champion the 3Rs and integrate them into all stages of their research career.
