R2N.MRS International Symposium 2026 – where cutting-edge research meets translational innovation in micro-physiological systems and 3R-based approaches. This two-day event will feature keynote lectures, oral and poster presentations, a panel discussion, and networking opportunities.

Confirmed Speakers:

  • Sina Bartfeld (TU Berlin) – Infection, innate immune signalling and cancer in the gut – organoids as host models
  • Helmuth Gehart (ETH Zurich) – Modeling tumor cell heterogeneity and plasticity in organoids
  • Dieter Groneberg (Fraunhofer ISC, Würzburg) – From simplicity to complexity: matching skin models to research questions
  • Reyk Horland (TissUse GmbH, Berlin) – Bridging Biology and Technology: Enhancing Preclinical Predictivity through Multi-Organ-Chips
  • Janna Nawroth (Helmholtz Pioneer Campus, Munich) – From AI to mucus fluidics: new approaches in respiratory disease research
  • Josef Penninger (HZI Braunschweig) – Human blood vessel engineering
  • Lisa Wagar (UC Irvine) – Predicting immunogenicity using human immune organoids

The symposium will be opened with welcome remarks by the Minister for Science and Culture of Lower Saxony. As part of R2N – Replace and Reduce in Lower Saxony (www.r2n.eu), this event highlights the commitment to advancing human-relevant model systems and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across academia, industry, and policy.
